Use ApplicantAlly During Microsoft Teams Interviews
Teams handles the meeting; ApplicantAlly handles your private interview support. The native desktop app follows your microphone and the meeting audio, keeps recent turns in context, and offers Quick, Full, or screen-based help when you request it.
Start with incoming sound
Check what ApplicantAlly hears before you share anything.
Sign in to the native desktop app, choose your resume and Job context, and start a Teams test call. Verify that your voice reaches ApplicantAlly from the microphone and that the remote speaker reaches it through the computer audio path. If one side is absent, check Teams device settings, your system output, and ApplicantAlly's audio setup before trying an answer.

Teams desktop
Decide whether the interviewer needs a window or a screen.
Teams offers content-sharing choices for an application window or the desktop. Share the narrowest surface that shows the task clearly. The native ApplicantAlly window uses screen-capture protection by default, and the team has checked normal Teams desktop and browser sharing. Verify the recipient view with your own Teams version and operating system.

Teams for web
Tab audio and system audio are separate choices.
Microsoft documents different audio toggles when Teams for web shares a tab, window, or entire screen. A tab can send its own audio; a window or screen may expose a system-audio choice. These settings affect what the other participants hear. If you also run the ApplicantAlly Web App, it must separately receive an allowed share source with an audio track.

During the interview
Use the prompt you have, then add detail.
Teams calls can move from a spoken question to a shared document or diagram. Use Quick Answer for a concise next point and Full Answer on desktop when the explanation needs structure. Trigger Screen Analysis when the visible material changes the task; it captures a requested image rather than watching continuously.
If you use a phone as a controller
Keep the desktop session in charge.
Remote Control lets you request an answer, start Screen Analysis, or adjust the ApplicantAlly window from a phone. Teams and the desktop app stay on the interview computer; the phone is a control surface, not a second meeting participant.
A short Teams rehearsal
Check input, output, and the recipient view.
- Join a Teams test call from the same desktop app or browser you will use in the interview.
- Verify your microphone and the remote speaker both appear in ApplicantAlly's live context.
- Share the intended window or display and confirm what the other participant sees.
- Use Include sound only if the task requires sharing your computer audio with the other participant.
On Windows, Microsoft's sound-sharing instructions note that Teams and the computer should use the same speaker when you share computer sound. On a Mac, Teams may require its audio driver for that outgoing sound-sharing feature. Those Teams requirements are distinct from ApplicantAlly's own audio permissions. Use assistance only where the interview permits it.

Does ApplicantAlly connect through a Microsoft Teams integration?
No. ApplicantAlly runs beside the Teams desktop or browser meeting. Its native app uses your computer’s microphone and system audio and shows requested support in its own window.
Should I switch on Include sound in Teams?
Only if you want other meeting participants to hear audio played by your computer during a screen share. Include sound is an outgoing Teams sharing control; it is not required for ApplicantAlly to capture the interviewer’s voice on your computer.
Can Teams in a browser work with ApplicantAlly?
Yes. The native ApplicantAlly app can work beside Teams for web. If you use the ApplicantAlly Web App instead, the available meeting-audio track depends on the browser and the tab, window, or screen you permit it to capture.
